Call of Duty & Cronus Zen in 2026: RICOCHET detections, what vendors still sell, and the risk

In February 2026 Activision's RICOCHET team announced new detections of machine-driven input behavior aimed at Cronus Zen and XIM Matrix, and its enforcement policy states that such devices are cheating tools, even when marketed as accessibility hardware, with non-appealable hardware bans. Eight Black Ops 7 / Warzone listings were still on sale on Sep 2, 2026, three with visible prices: $50, $55 and $64.99. All are marked Enforcement risk here.

What did Activision say, exactly?

The RICOCHET Season 02 blog post for Black Ops 7 (February 2026) describes new detections targeting "machine-driven input behavior" and names Cronus Zen and XIM Matrix as the devices in scope. Activision's Call of Duty Security and Enforcement Policy goes further: these devices "are cheating tools, even if they masquerade as accessibility devices", and hardware bans issued under the policy are not appealable. The Verge reported the same detections alongside ReaSnow S1.

That is a stronger statement than Epic's Fortnite policy, which warns first. Activision's language is ban-first and hardware-level, meaning the console or PC, not just the account.

We cannot tell you the detection rate, what input patterns trigger it, or whether any particular script avoids it. Neither can any vendor, whatever the listing says. Our status column for Call of Duty is red for every product and will stay red as long as the policy stands.

Which Call of Duty scripts are still sold?

Only three prices are readable outside a checkout or a library. The aggregator entries are accessible through Cronus Zen Central's Basic ($15 a month, $50 to $70 lifetime) or Premium ($25 a month) plans; the dollar figures printed on the library pages are "value" labels, not prices, and we do not use them.

What are the vendors claiming?

Nobody we read claimed immunity from RICOCHET. Feature lists concentrate on anti-recoil, aim assist strength, rapid fire and movement macros. Inferno's page uses "lifetime updates"; Phantom promises updates through Discord after a ticket; Recon's page describes "tuned" profiles. Where a listing mentioned Call of Duty at all in its version string, it was the D3TX entry ("v1.4"), which is the only version number we saw. None of the storefronts displayed a season label, so we cannot say which were updated for Season 05 Reloaded.

Every listing is honest in one specific way: none of the eight claims to be beyond detection. We would flag any listing that did.

What is the current Call of Duty state?

Season 05 launched Jul 23, 2026 (9 AM PT) for Black Ops 7 and Warzone. Season 05 Reloaded landed Aug 20. Season 06 is expected around Sep 17 but had not been announced officially on our check date. RICOCHET updates tend to accompany season launches, so Sep 17 is both a script-update date and a possible detection-update date.

How should the risk be weighed?

We are a price comparison site, not a legal or safety adviser. The facts a buyer needs are these:

1. Activision has said in writing that Cronus Zen is treated as a cheating tool and that hardware bans are permanent and not appealable.
2. Activision has said in writing that it built detections for the device class.
3. Vendors selling Call of Duty scripts do not, in the listings we read, dispute either point. They sell the script; the risk is yours by their terms and by ours.
4. Prices for the three visible scripts ($50 to $64.99) sit in the same band as scripts for games without a public detection program. There is no risk discount.

If those facts are acceptable, the comparison table above is the market. If they are not, no line in the table changes them.

What will we track?

Whether any vendor publishes a Season 06 update note after Sep 17; whether Dead Eye's price becomes visible; whether the aggregator entries pick up season labels; and whether Activision publishes a Season 06 RICOCHET update. Any change to Activision's public statements will be reflected in the enforcement note on the status board, with a source link and a date.
