NBA 2K27 Season 2 (Oct 16): which scripts will need updates

2K has promised a larger patch before Season 2 on Oct 16, 2026. Which of the nine NBA 2K27 scripts depend on what it touches, and what to check that day.

NBA 2K27 Season 2 starts Oct 16, 2026, and 2K has promised a larger pre-season patch ahead of it. The nine scripts claiming 2K27 support (yew2K, Green, Hoops, Prime, Auto-Green, metas, Dynasty, Prodigy and the Glory V7 library listing) all depend on shot timing, and most on defensive logic too. Whether they need updates depends on what the patch touches; how quickly they get them depends on wording that ranges from "patch-day" to "frequent". This post is written from our Sep 2 dataset; check each product page for later rechecks.

What do we know about the Season 2 patch?

Only what 2K has published: Season 2 begins Oct 16 and a larger pre-season patch is coming. Season 1 began with Early Access on Aug 26 and the worldwide launch on Sep 4; patch v1.2 arrived Aug 28 and v1.3 on Aug 31. Per Operation Sports' write-up, v1.3 reduced Shot Artist and Calibrated Takeover effectiveness and tuned REP and Crew XP, with no shot-timing changes listed.

We are not going to guess what the Season 2 patch contains. Season patches in this series have historically touched gameplay balance, and shot timing is a balance lever, so the exposure is real; whether it is realised is unknown until the notes publish.

Which script features are exposed?

Every 2K27 script in our dataset lists some form of automated shot timing. Most list defensive automation. Several list dribble, stamina and dunk-meter items. The exposure by feature type:

Feature typeExposed toScripts listing it
Auto-green / shot timingAny change to release windows, shot meter, timing profiles, latency handlingAll nine
Tempo / button rhythmChanges to rhythm shooting or Pro Stick timingGreen, Prime, Syna2K (2K26), Glory V7, Hoops (yewscripts listing)
AI Defense / contestChanges to contest windows, block timing, defensive assistGreen, Prime, Auto-Green, Dynasty, Glory V7, Hoops (Defense Boost), metas
Dribble / quick-stop macrosAnimation or input-window changesGreen, Prime, Hoops, metas, Prodigy, Glory V7
StaminaChanges to stamina drain or turboGreen, Hoops, Auto-Green, Dynasty, metas, Glory V7
Meter dunkChanges to dunk meterGreen, Hoops (yewscripts listing), Glory V7

The shorter a script's menu, the fewer things a patch can break; the more timing-dependent the feature, the more likely it is to need a re-tune.

How does each vendor word its update promise?

Only one vendor ties its promise to patch day by name. None names a turnaround (24 hours, 48 hours). "Weekly" could mean the day of the patch or six days later. That is the number to ask for now, before Oct 16, while there is nothing urgent about the answer.

What to check on patch day

  1. Read the notes. 2K's patch updates page will list gameplay changes. Look for shot timing, shot meter, release, contest, and stamina.
  2. Check the vendor's Discord or changelog for a dated post. A script that needed a change will say so; a script that did not should say that too.
  3. Compare dates. A post dated after the patch that names the patch is confirmation. Silence is not.
  4. Check this site's status board. We recheck every 2K27 listing after the notes publish and after Oct 16, and product pages show the date.
  5. Do not buy in the gap. If you are shopping in the days after the patch and a vendor has not posted, wait for the post.

The 2K26 holdouts

Season 2 is also a deadline of sorts for the products still on the NBA 2K26 catalog: Swish (secretzens.com), Syna2K (syna.gg, with a 2K27 build marked coming soon on Sep 2), Green AI 2026 (Vertex Zens), MVP V8, Champ V4 and Jump At It V5 (Cronus Zen Central library). A vendor that has not shipped a 2K27 build by the second season is, in practice, out of the 2K27 market. Each of those product pages will show whatever has changed.

Enforcement

None. NBA 2K27 scripts do not carry the Enforcement risk status because we found no Cronus-specific statement from 2K; the Code of Conduct prohibits unauthorized third-party tools in general terms. If 2K publishes a device-specific statement alongside Season 2, the flag changes and the status board will link it.

Prices and wording in this post are from our Sep 2, 2026 check. The product pages carry every recheck since.

Frequently asked questions

When does NBA 2K27 Season 2 start?

Oct 16, 2026, per 2K's patch updates page, with a larger pre-season patch promised before it. Season 1 began with Early Access on Aug 26.

Will every NBA 2K27 script need an update?

If the patch changes shot timing, release windows or defensive contest logic, every auto-green and AI-defense script is exposed. If it does not, most may be unaffected. Vendors decide after the notes publish.

Which vendors promise patch-day updates?

cronus.gg's Auto-Green says "weekly patch-day updates"; yew.gg, yewscripts.com, FeatureZens, hoopers.gg and metas.gg say weekly; ClipZ Aim says "frequent". None names a turnaround time.

How will CronusMarket cover it?

We recheck every 2K27 listing after the patch notes publish and again after Oct 16, and each recheck adds a dated point to the product's price history and status.
